ISNA Board of Directors Meeting
April 8, 2005
ISNA Headquarters

Present: Joyce Darnell, President; Dorene Albright, Vice-President; Sue Gaebler, Secretary; Cindi Moon, Treasurer; Judy Barbeau, Jennifer Embree, Ella Harmeyer, Teresa Holland, and Barbara Kelly, Directors; Ernest C. Klein, Jr., CAE, Executive Director.

Others Present: Elizabeth Jackson, Central Region Chairperson; Stephanie Whittaker, Central Region Vice-Chairperson and Chair, Task Force on Medication Errors; and Nikki Lee, Nursing Student.

Mike Wolf, CPA, Ent & Imler CPA Group, reviewed the 2004 audit which the Board approved.

Minutes of the December 10, 2004, Board meeting, the Executive committee conference call on February 2, 2005, the conference call of February 4, 2005, as corrected, the conference call on February 28, 2005, and the meeting on March 15, 2005 were approved.

The Board reviewed, revised and approved the 2005 Strategic Plan.

The Board reviewed the 2004 region audits which were submitted (several were not available) and denied the request from the Northeast Region to hold yearly elections.

The Board directed the ISNA Committee on Bylaws to develop a proposed amendment to the bylaws which would provide more flexibility for members to affiliate with geographic and/or special interest groups and have the money follow the activity.

The Board discussed plans for a continuing education program sponsored by the Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Special Interest Forum with Ellen Chesnut and Leslie Oleck, SIF Co-Chairs, via conference call.

The INF President, Linda Shinn, reported via telephone that the Ethel Mae Payne Scholarship funds would be depleted in April and the continuing education conference planned for the fall will be rescheduled for Spring 2006.

The Board approved a request for the Northeast Region to sponsor a page in the Allen County History Book and ISNA will provide photos and text.

The Board heard reports from President Joyce Darnell, Treasurer Cindi Moon, Executive Director Ernest Klein, and Medical Errors Task Force Chair Stephanie Whittaker.
