Jennifer Embree, Ella Harmeyer (telephone 10:30 am-Noon); Teresa Holland,
and Barbara Kelly, Directors; Ernest C. Klein, Jr., CAE, Executive Director.

Northeast Region (am); Ann Tomey, ANA Delegate; Andrea Meredith, Jennifer

The minutes of April 8, 2005, were approved and the 2005 Strategic Plan
reviewed.
The following appointments were approved:
ISNA Nurse PAC: Ella Harmeyer, Ernest C. Klein, Jr., Teresa Perkins, and
Cynthia Stone were reappointed and Diana Sullivan, Sanna Harges, Pamella
Jahnke, and Sally Johnson Hartman were appointed for two-year terms.
Committee on Approval: Patricia Coyle-Rogers, Mary Jo Fisher, and Ann
Motycka were reappointed and David Miller, Shelbyville, was appointed for
three-year terms effective July 1, 2005.
Awards Committee: Barbara Kelly, Jennifer Embree, and Judy Barbeau.
Parliamentary Procedure Presentation for Meeting of the Members: Ella
Harmeyer and Barbara Kelly.
Tellers Committee: President was authorized to appoint the Tellers
Committee.
A memo “Tough Times Tough Decisions” was reviewed and approved for
distribution the ISNA members.
Proposed amendments to the ISNA Bylaws were approved for distribution to the
members for review prior to the ISNA Meeting of the Members.
The 2004 ISNA region audit summary was reviewed.
Policy changes for the Committee on Approval were reviewed and approved.
The April 2005 financial statement, the President’s Report, and the
Executive Director’s Report were reviewed.
The Board discussed the Proposed ANA Bylaw Amendments and the following
reports for the ANA House of Delegates with those delegates in attendance:
A. ANA Presidential Endorsement Process
B. Acts of Torture and Abuse
C. Implications of Fatigue on patient and Nurse Safety
D. Dangers of Leaving Children Unattended in and around Motor Vehicles
E. The Nightingale Tribute
F. Health Care Reform: Preparing ANA and the Nursing Profession to take the
Leadership Role in US Health Care Reform
G. Locus of Nursing Practice
H. Promote Public Awareness of Safe Haven Laws for Infant Abandonment
