ISNA Board of Directors Meeting
November 17, 2006

Present: Dorene Albright, President; Ella Harmeyer, Vice-President; Sue Gaebler, Secretary; Paula McAfee, Treasurer; Judy Barbeau (until noon), Eleanor Donnelly, Jennifer Embree (7 pm), Teresa Holland, and Barbara Kelly, Directors; Ernest C. Klein, Jr., CAE, Executive Director.

Others present: Stephena Sheets, Chapter of Psychiatric Nurses; Jenna Sanders and Grant Tyler, Indiana Association of Nursing Students; Natalie Zipper and Sarah Cole, students.

Minutes of the September 29, 2006, Board Meeting and of the September 30, 2006, ISNA Meeting of the Members were approved. The Resolutions passed during the Meeting of the Members were discussed as was the need to complete the revision of the Public Policy Platform.

Board approved the destruction of the 2005 ISNA Ballots.

The financial statement for September 2006 and the ISNAP Workshop Financial Recap and Evaluation were reviewed.

The Board approved use of the net proceeds from the ISNAP workshop on September 29, 2006, for the ISNAP Needs Assistance Fund.

Proposal from Ent and Imler CPA Group to prepare 2006 audit, monthly financial statements, and tax forms for 2007 was approved.

The Board approved the following policy documents: The 2007 Nominations Manual, the ISNA General Policy and Procedures Manual, and the revised polices, procedures and criteria for the Continuing Nursing Education program.

Board will work with a consultant to establish a framework for data-driven decision-making.

Dates for Board meetings in 2007 were established as follows: February 9, April 20, June 8, August 3, and September 21 (if Meeting of the Members is September 22).

Appointments to the Indiana Nurses Foundation will be made at the February 9, 2007, meeting.

Support for the Ivy Tech/St. Vincent Diversity Grant was approved

The Board of Directors approved the ISNA budget for 2007 with income over expenses.

President’s Report and the report from the Executive Director were heard. Mr. Klein also reviewed the annual report of the Indiana State Nurses Assistance Program (ISNAP).

Financial recap for the 2006 Meeting of the Members was reviewed as was the meeting evaluation summary.

Next meeting: February 9, 2007.
