ISNA Board Summary
November 30, 2007
Present: Ella Harmeyer, President; Barbara Kelly, Vice-President; Judy
Barbeau, Secretary; Paula McAfee, Treasurer; Eleanor Donnelly, Jennifer
Embree, Michael Fights, Vicki Johnson, and Katie Willock, Directors; and
Ernest C. Klein, Jr., CAE, Executive Director.
Others present: Stephen Ingram, CAE, Sightline Solutions.
The Board members received an orientation on their corporate
responsibilities by Ernest Klein and received a CD containing ISNA Policies
and Procedures, Bylaws, and other pertinent documents for easy reference.
Stephen Ingram conducted a strategic planning session. Mr. Ingram will meet
with the Board in February to finalize priorities. The September 30,
2007, Financial Statement prepared by Ent and Imler was reviewed.
Minutes of the Board Meetings on September 21 and 22, 2007, were approved as
were the minutes of the September 22, 2007, meeting of the members and of
the conference call held October 5, 2007.
Net income from the September 21, 2007, Indiana State Nurses Assistance
Program continuing nursing education workshop was transferred to the Indiana
Nurses Foundation to be used for the Program.
The Board voted to send a contribution to both the Kentucky Nurses
Association and the West Virginia Nurses Association to support the
professional activities of the Association.
Also approved was a proposal from Stevens and Stevens LLC Marketing and
Communication Services to redesign, upgrade, and maintain the ISNA web site.
The Board adopted the proposed balanced budget for 2008. A copy is

• Northwest – Mike Fights
• North Central – Vicki Johnson
• Elkhart/Kosciusko Counties – Katie Willock
• Wabash Valley – Jeni Embree
• Psychiatric/Mental Health – Eleanor Donnelly
President Ella Harmeyer reported on the ANA Constituent Assembly meeting and
concerns raised about the United American Nurses (UAN).
Executive Director Ernest Klein reported on staff activities during October
and November. He included a report on “Member Trends” as well as a financial
recap of the 2008 Meeting of the Members and the ISNAP Workshop.
Barbara Kelly reported that the Indiana Nursing Workforce Development
Coalition is starting plans to hold a nursing summit.
The Board adopted the following schedule of meetings for 2008:
February 22; April 25; June 6 with ANA Delegates; August 22;
September 26 & 27 (in conjunction with the Meeting of the Members);
November 21.
