Indiana Nurses Foundation
The Indiana Nurses Foundation was established as the charitable corporation
of the Indiana State Nurses Association. The Foundation was organized and
incorporated in 1976 and is a tax-exempt organization under Section
501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.
Original purposes of the Foundation were educational, scientific and
charitable. In 1992, the Nurses Foundation began a study of its goals and
role in supporting nursing in Indiana. Through a series of consultants and
focus groups, the role of the Indiana Nurses Foundation was changed to
philanthropic. The Foundation now serves to accept and dispense monies that
benefit the profession of nursing in Indiana. Since then the
Foundation has provided funds for nurses to gain or continue their nursing
education. The Foundation also sponsors workshops and nationally known
speakers in Indiana.
Tax-Deductible Contributions
The Indiana Nurses Foundation provides special opportunities to support the
nursing profession in Indiana. The Foundation does not carry out fundraising
activities but relies on gifts and bequests for specific and general
purposes. Remembering the Foundation in your will or giving money in memory
of a nurse or other family member will allow nurses in Indiana to benefit
from your tax deductible contribution.
