||
| Protecting the Nursing Profession | ||
|
ISNA monitors legislation and proposed rules
changes at the state level. Each session of the Indiana General Assembly,
the Indiana State Nurses Association tracks over 100 bills
that have an impact on Indiana's nurses. In addition, we attend hearings
and study commission meetings and provide expert testimony to committees
and review groups. ISNA staff and lobbyists are at the Indiana State House
every day the legislature is in session and during any meetings throughout
the year where the nursing profession is discussed. We also keep our members informed about pending legislation at the federal level which is monitored by the American Nurses Association. |
||
| Personal Service | ||
| ISNA is here to help you. As a member you can call, email or write us anytime with your questions or concerns. We can help answer your questions, locate valuable resources and provide helpful advice you won't get anywhere else. | ||
| Discounts and Financial Services | ||
| Receive exceptional discounts and exclusive services that are available only to ISNA members. The money you save and value received from using just a fraction of these products and services is greater than your membership dues. | ||
| Liability Insurance | ||
|
All practicing registered nurses should
carry their own professional liability insurance. Even if you are
obviously innocent, you may still have to go to court and pay the costly
legal expenses associated with a trial. (Download
this PDF for more details about your potential liability)
You can help secure protection against an
unexpected lawsuit for damages arising from your professional services.
And our plan travels with you even if you should change jobs. The
liability insurance is available through
Marsh, a leading provider of professional liability insurance. Call
877-886-0110 and request the application for ISNA members or visit Marsh
online. |

Representing and supporting nursing is a primary
mission of the association. For more than 100 years, ISNA has been there
to advance and protect the profession. We regularly meet with state legislators and government representatives about topics of interest to nurses. ISNA monitors the legislative sessions and is relied upon by officials to provide expert testimony and feedback on matters that are being reviewed and debated. In the past legislative session, ISNA monitored more than 150 bills that had potential impacts on standards of practice and the care nurses provide to their patients. ANA performs similar work at the national level to advocate and represent the nurses at the national level. |

stay up-to-date in your practice area and to expand your career
potential. From continuing education, certification to credentialing you
