Please see attached the findings from the IU Workgroup on Healthcare Reform June 2007 Listening Tour.

The Indiana University Healthcare Reform Study Group (Study Group) acknowledges and would like to thank all who participated in the June 2007 “Vision Tour” series and encourages all to attend the upcoming series of Town Hall Forums beginning in October. Whereas the June 2007 Tour was intended to capture Hoosiers’ vision for a healthcare future, the Fall 2007 “Options Tour” will seek public feedback about a set of proposed healthcare reform options to be presented to Indiana Family & Social Services Administration Secretary Mitch Roob, Governor Mitch Daniels, and the state legislature.

The Study Group has developed several options/recommendations for healthcare reform that it will propose to the Indiana State Legislature. The document containing these options will be downloadable mid-October at www.healthcarereform.iupui.edu.

A series of forums will solicit feedback about these options and further recommendations that can be made. This will provide the governor, the Indiana State Legislature, and the public with data-driven and evidenced-based policy recommendations to help address Indiana’s healthcare situation. Your input is vital. We need informed criticism from persons of diverse backgrounds throughout Indiana to assure the success of these forums. The public is therefore encouraged to participate. We will visit the fourteen cities listed below. More details will follow.
