Disability Awareness Month
March 2004 is Disability Awareness Month and ISNA, along with individuals,
businesses and organizations across the state, will be recognizing the
abilities of people with disabilities. The Indiana Governor’s Planning
Council for People with Disabilities has created a new campaign to help
education Hoosiers about the issues surrounding disabilities.

Disability Awareness Month 2004 will be celebrated with community-based
activities carried out by hundreds of advocates and people with disabilities
throughout the state. The activities are centrally coordinated by the
Governor’s Planning Council and include events such as mayoral
proclamations, art contests and awareness campaigns in schools, government
agencies and businesses.
