License Plate to Promote Nursing

The Indiana Organization of Nurse Executives (IONE) is introducing a license plate to promote nursing in Indiana.  The plate does not represent any specific region, organization or institution. A picture of the plate is shown above.  500 plates must be sold by July 31 in order for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) to manufacture them for plate year 2004.

To purchase a plate, you must complete an application.  (This is a PDF file, if you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, download it here).  A $25 donation, in addition to the regular cost of your license plate, is required. The donation is tax deductible and the proceeds will be allocated to state activities dedicated to nursing education, retention and recruitment. The Nursing Workforce Initiative is one example of such activities, as is Nursing 2000.

Once the application is sent to the BMV, with the $25 donation, it will be validated and returned. The validated form should be presented to the local BMV license branch at the time of registration renewal in 2004. The nurses' plate will be given at that time.
