Continuing Nursing Education Providers
The Indiana State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Committee on Approval
The ISNA program is administered through the Committee on Approval and is accredited through August 2013. Individual activity (live/face-to-face/prepackaged) applications are reviewed throughout the year and should be submitted at least eight weeks in advance of the presentation date. Approval is awarded for two years if the content, objectives, and time frame remain the same. Approval as a Provider
The ISNA Committee on Approval also approves continuing nursing education providers to award nursing contact hours to the individual activities they develop and present. Any individual, institution, organization, or agency in Indiana responsible for the overall development, implementation, evaluation, and quality assurance of continuing nursing education is eligible to seek approval as a provider once three individual activities have been submitted and to and approved by the ISNA Committee on Approval in the two years preceding the submission of the application for approval as a provider. The review fee for a continuing Nursing Education Provider Application is $1,200. Providers are approved for a period of three years with reapplication due ninety days prior to approval expiration date. The Committee on Approval meets in the spring and the fall to review provider applications. Applications for review in the spring must be postmarked by March 1; those submitted for review in the fall must be postmarked no later than September 1.
